Where to EAT in Washington

Dining out in D.C. can truly be a world class experience.  From Jose Andres’ fabulous foursome to mom-and-pop shops like Julia’s Empanadas, from haute cuisine to simple street food, an array of culinary pleasures awaits you with something to please every palate.  African, South and Central American, Indian, and Asian cuisines are at your finger tips.  Fusion food also makes its mark on this rapidly changing and blending city, like the Japanese-Mexican creations of Zengo, which abound in the city’s diverse neighborhoods.  The city’s proximity to the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay practically guarantee some fantastically fresh seafood.  Unlike other cities, D.C.’s hotel restaurants, like the Mandarin Oriental’s CityZen, offer some of the best and most innovative cuisine in town.  Discerning diners are pushing the bar ever higher in the District ensuring much more tastiness to come. If you are used to dining late, bear in mind that many D.C. restaurants don’t stay open later than 10:30 or 11:00, but if a night of dancing leaves you famished, hit up Cashion’s Eat Place for their After Dark Menu.  Also, be sure to try some tapas at Jaleo, savor elegant Italian at Ristorante Tosca, or eat with your fingers Ethiopian style at Etete.
