Washington DC Nightlife

Nightlife in D.C. is as diverse as its citizens.  From the super swanky to the downright divey, there is a place for every mood.  As many D.C. residents come from different places around the world and the country, the bars and clubs assume the persona of their owners.  It’s not surprising to find a bar with an LA or New York feel in the middle of the District.  There are also bars with a distinctly D.C. vibe, whether it’s preppie or funky, you’ll know you are in the midst of the politically savvy movers and shakers.  Although there are a few exclusive and members-only clubs in the city, you can usually get on the list if you talk to your hotel concierge or mention that you are buying a bottle while you are in line.  Although some places close earlier, last call is typically at 2:30am and bars close at 3:00am.
