New York City Events
Every nook and cranny in the city offers eye candy. Must-see attractions include Times Square, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Central Park and Bronx Zoo. Many television shows are taped in New York and you can be in the audience. The Daily Show with John Stewart, The Martha Stewart Show, Good Morning America, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, Live! With Regis and Kelly, Saturday Night Live and Today shows are the most popular programs. Believe it or not, most show tickets are free! Television shows such as 30 Rock, Gossip Girl, Law & Order and Ugly Betty are also filmed in New York — so don’t surprised if you bump into a Hollywood celeb on your morning Dean & Deluca run.

Broadway is buzzing with a dazzling array of shows. The most popular? Wicked, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray and Chicago. Off-Broadway crowd-pleasers include Blue Man Group and Stomp. Madison Square Garden grooves to the live beats of Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and other major recording artists. Carnegie Hall is one of the best venues — anywhere — to hear classical music. The Met offers opera and the Lincoln Center is the place for dance and performing arts. Also de rigeur? Sightseeing made easy via boat, bus and walking tours. |
