WELCOME
TO NEW ORLEANS
Raw, restless, regal, and relaxed – sound like a mixed bag? Welcome to New Orleans. Whether you want to sink your feet into the bayou for a crawfish catch; indulge your every whim along the cobbled streets of The French Quarter, downing Hurricanes and Daiquiris; jazz yourself up and blues yourself down to some of the best live music in the States; or whether you’re happy with a stroll down a shady street that’s calling you towards her porches with fine-tuned Southern Hospitality – there’s a little bit here for everyone and anyone looking to have some fun in the (hot!) N’awlins sun. Sure, there’s Mardi Gras, and Jazz Fest, when good ol’ Nola brims and beats with sweaty crowds of kings and jesters, saxophones, beads, and drums, but Nola’s not just about the festivals. With some of the best eats around, New Orleans is a treat for anyone who steps into her lush parks and messy grids of one-way streets. It’s your Cajun corner, your sweet molasses, your finger-lickin’ good ride down south, rough as the shell and rare as the pearl. Maybe Louis Armstrong was right all those years ago when he sang out, “you’re gonna find heaven right here on earth way down yonder in New Orleans.”

Travel Photography for the Average Explorer
How to turn those otherwise boring travel pictures into wall-worthy pieces of art
By MondoExplorer’s Editor
One of my favorite parts of a trip is coming home and sorting through all of the pictures. It’s almost as if you relive the vacation as each shot tells a story, brings a memory, or reminds you of the feeling you had at that moment.
I especially love doing things with my travel photos, rather than just sticking them away in a folder on the computer or an album that will probably never be opened again. Instead, I select the best few shots to print to the size I want, and then display them in a unique frame in my home, whether it’s a large, canvas-size photo that fills an entire wall space or just a collection of three or four small photos clustered together on a shelf or coffee table.
